Things to See and Do Around Kippford

The activities which we have developed are available directly from the Park, or we have formed links with nearby specialist operators to ensure that during the day those who wish to be active are able to do so without disturbing the serenity of the Park.

This ensures a wholesome blend of activity and peace. We have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation award for our work

Cycling

Dalbeattie Forest now boasts a world class Mountain Bike Track, part of the 7 Stanes. There are several levels ranging from easy to hard, these commence 300m from our front gate.

Driving

We have produced a leaflet "Breakout" detailing seven interesting drives to help you make the most of this wonderful area, linking drive routes with places to shop, eat and visit for scenic or historical interest. Also useful for the odd rainy day.

Fishing

We have our own private loch 600m away. Fly and coarse fishing can both be found in and around Kippford, the local tackle store is McCowans & Son, 01556 610 270.

Walks

There are various walks which we have detailed in our "Activities" guide in and around Kippford, from scenic coastal walks to marked forest trails, they commence from our own high woodland and extend to the sea.

For more information about walks in Dumfries and Galloway visit Dumfries and Galloway Walks  at www.walkhighlands.co.uk/galloway/ which provides detailed routes and maps for visitors to the area.
